Infrared heating and heat pump

Infrared heating has become an indispensable part of modern heating. More and more homeowners are choosing pleasant and comfortable infrared heating for their homes.

We're also increasingly seeing infrared panels replacing traditional convectors in renovation projects. People are increasingly choosing the comfort of radiant heat over traditional air heating.

The operating principle of an infrared panel is similar to that of the sun. Instead of heating air, we heat the objects directly. This means the thermal mass is stored in the solid matter instead of the air.

This results in a much more stable heat that doesn't fluctuate quickly when a door or window is opened. An infrared heater, like the sun, will warm all objects in the room. These objects, in turn, heat the surrounding air.

A conventional heater will first heat the air and then try to use this warm air to effectively heat the room. The major drawback of this type of heating is that warm air will always try to rise.

The warmest point of the house will always be the ceiling, while we, as residents, are on the floor. Significant savings can be achieved here if we can keep the heat below ground.

The most common form of radiant heat comes from underfloor heating. Here, we'll use a similar principle by radiating heat upward from the floor. Due to the low floor temperature, this radiation is noticeable up to a height of 180 cm. This radiant heat is generally perceived as pleasant.

Infrared heating works on the same principle as underfloor heating, but instead of just heating the floor, it also heats the walls and all the furniture. Another major advantage of infrared heating compared to underfloor heating is its speed.

Underfloor heating requires a large amount of heat, making temperature fluctuations nearly impossible. Turning it up a few degrees in the evening is impossible. Going from 20°C to 22°C can easily take 24 hours.

With infrared heating, this can be done within 30 minutes. Compared to previous techniques, the cost of high-quality infrared heating is considerably lower.
